Welcome to The Sewing Shop  

 Located in  Bozeman, Montana, the Sewing Shop specializes in custom sewing, alterations and repair of clothing and household items.  We love zippers!

We will be offering sewing classes beginning in June 2026.

Please allow  a Minimum of SIX (6) WEEKS* from your appointment or dropoff date for the completion of your work!

Shorter turnarounds are at the discretion of The Sewing Shop, and will be assessed a $30 Expedite Fee PER ITEM, payable at time of dropoff.  

Payment by cash or check only.

*Turnaround time may vary depending on the workload.

If you cannot keep your appointment, please cancel online, call or text at least 24 hours in advance so that the appointment time is available to others.  "No Shows" will not be accommodated for future work.

  Finished work will be held for 30 days from notification of completion, and then donated to charity or otherwise disposed of.

We do not work on wedding gowns, leather, fur, items containing down or feathers, tents, luggage, upholstered items, most backpacks, and fragile vintage items. Jeans should be washed before measuring for hemming because of the likelihood of shrinkage.  All items brought to the shop must be new/never worn or freshly laundered/drycleaned.  We cannot work on items contaminated with blood, animal hair, bodily fluids, makeup, chemicals, smoke, tar, dirt, sweat, oils--you get the idea--these things are not good for the sewist, the sewing machines, or other peoples' belongings.

Do not bring pets or small children to the shop.

To achieve an accurate fit, bring all the accessories you plan to wear with the garment to your fitting.  This includes shoes, belt, suspenders,  undergarments/shapewear, dress shirt, etc.
